If you are getting ready to fly on JetBlue and you're planning on bringing an infant along with you, you should get acquainted with JetBlue's policies on traveling with infants. This article will teach you about them.

Seats for Infants

JetBlue does not require you to purchase a seat for your infant. You can travel with your infant on your lap if he or she is more than 2 days old and less than 2 years old. You can use an FAA-approved car safety seat for infants if you choose, but you will be required to purchase a seat for your infant to do so.

Carry-On Items

If you are traveling with an infant on your lap, you can bring along a diaper bag and it will not count toward your carry-on limit. Additionally, car seats and strollers do not either count toward you carry-on limit or your checked items limit. JetBlue considers breast pumps to be assistive devices, so it does not count them toward your carry-on limit either.

International Travel with Infants

If you are the only parent traveling with the infant on an international flight then you will need to fill out the airline's minor travel consent form. The same is true if you are not the infant's parent.

Entertainment for Infants

Keeping still on a long flight can be difficult for infants. Fortunately, JetBlue has a personal TV screen for each seat. Content includes access to Nickelodeon, Animal Planet, Cartoon Network and family-friendly movies you can use to keep them entertained.

Points for Infants

You can sign your infant up to help your family earn points toward future trips, just like you can for the rest of the family. To enroll them, follow these instructions:

  1. Sign in to your TrueBlue account.
  2. Open the menu.
  3. Select your name.
  4. Select Enroll a Child.
  5. Follow the instructions to complete the enrollment.

With JetBlue's Points Pooling feature, your whole family can earn and benefit from travel points much faster.

Contacting JetBlue

If you have any other questions about traveling with an infant or how to fill out the minor travel consent form, contact a JetBlue customer service representative. You can contact one on the help forum, by email, or by phone.
